Storm Water Management Program

The City of Woodway has developed our Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) to comply with State and Federal regulations and to improve the quality of life in our city. The SWMP contains activities to reduce the amount of pollution in the storm water that runs off to our waterways.

Urban storm water runoff is a serious concern. It is contaminated with:

  • Animal droppings
  • Automotive by-products
  • Fertilizer
  • Food wastes
  • Pesticides
  • Trash
  • Other toxic substances that are part of our urban environment

Waters that flow over streets, parking lots, construction sites and industrial facilities carry these pollutants through a storm drain network directly to the lakes, streams, and beaches of Texas.
