John Hatchel retired in 1999 after completing 33 years in municipal management with his last 16 years being Deputy/Assistant City Manager with the City of Waco. After retirement, he used his experience and knowledge to serve as a volunteer on community/civic boards and committees. He was appointed by 2 Texas Governors to server on 3 state boards. John is in his second appointment to the Board of Regents of the Texas State Technological College System and currently holds the position of Board Chairman.
John has served as Interim City Manager for numerous cities across the State. With his knowledge of municipal utility systems, he was asked to restructure the utility systems for several cities and Utility Districts.
Hatchel is a graduate of West Texas State A&M, is married with one daughter living in Amarillo.
The City Manager’s Office is located in Woodway City Hall at 922 Estates Drive in Woodway, Texas.
