The Criminal Investigation’s Division is commanded by Captain Larry Adams. Captain Adams is a graduate of Tarleton State University, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s School of Police Supervision, and is a veteran of the United States Navy. He is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and serves on the IACP’s Patrol and Tactical Operations Committee.
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for all criminal offense investigations, community resource programs, code enforcement, and animal control for the Public Safety Department. CID is led by Captain Larry Adams and assisted by Detective Sergeant Tod Gill, Detective Corporal Andrew McGee, and Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer Albert Lopez.
CID investigators are responsible for conducting thorough investigations, assisting in the arrest offenders, aiding in the prosecution of defendants, recovering and returning stolen property, and conducting search warrants to seize illegal drugs and other evidence of criminal activity.
Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer Albert Lopez enforces City Ordinances such as junk vehicles, parking, high grass, stagnant water, and any other nuisance violations. As Animal Control Officer, he responds to all animal control issues in the community.
